Oppose Senate Bill 1125Naples, FL
|
Dear Senator Hatch. As you are aware, there is no treatment at this time for Meso. Everything is experimental and at best prologs life for a short time. Bill lived 19 months, they were 10 months of pain, agony, humiliation, and sadness. Our daughter, our two sons, our 6 grandchildren, and all of our families and friends saw Bill go from a man that loved life and lived it to the fullest to diminish to mere skin and bones and praying to die. We went to the best doctors, hospitals, and clinics pursuing treatments. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars both to no avail. Bill was a remarkable man. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and entrepreneur. Every life he touched, he left his mark. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was the most positive person I ever met. Today we all miss him more than words could ever express. He suffered in silence. Never once complained about being a victim of disease that could have been prevented and still could be prevented if the lawmakers had done their job and banned the use of asbestos. I am asking you as a grieving wife, to consider the life of a person more than considering the companies that make the products that cause this horrible disease. I know that there has to be a compromise but does it have to be less for the person who unknowingly worked with a products that is deadly and more for the company that knew that the products was deadly and still manufactured it and held back the truth about the product. I know you have a very difficult decision to make but if you go into your heard ant vote conscientiously, I believe my husband will not have died in vain Thank you for an consideration you give to voting "NO" on S.1125 Very truly yours Gerri Miller
