Oppose Senate Bill 1125
Like many others my father was in the Navy. He served during WW2 and worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard for 9 years.
He died from mesothelioma in November of 2002
Like others my family has dealt with litigation. Like others my family has signed settlement agreements with companies only to be been stiffed by those companies because they're all waiting to see what will happen with congressional legislation.
How many times are we going to allow politicians to shaft the public. We pay more taxes than corporations yet Orrin Hatch wants to bail out those corporations.
The fact that those companies poisoned some of the people who voted for him is irrelevant.
Senator Hatch doesn't want fairness. I believe that murder is a crime punishable by death in certain states. Companies knowingly poisoned workers. That's murder in my book but Orrin Hatch wants to legislate away company responsibility.
Obviously the members of Congress need to personally experience this in their own families to see how wrong this legislation is. That just shows that they don't truly represent the people at all.
People need to hit them where it hurts. Simply vote against these senators and congressmen in the next election and put people in there who actually care about the people.
The Asbestos Fairness Act is simply a corporate bailout that screws victims once again. And you think Congress cares about people.
Wake up!!!
