Dr. Irving Selikoff to the CPLIA Convention November 4, 1969
Dr. Irving Selikoff was a physician and scientist who led the worldwide struggle to prevent exposure to asbestos. For years he was a spokesman regarding the health effects of occupational asbestos exposure among workers in construction and other trades who used asbestos products on the job. In November of 1969, he warned that the spray-on fireproofing used in the construction of the World Trade Center would eventually kill all the workers who applied it. Below is an internal memo from the W.R. Grace company, Zonolite division. W.R. Grace manufactured the spray-on fireproofing used in the World Trade Center.
