Peritonial Mesothelioma, a Search for Help - Auckland, New Zealand

February 22, 1998

Dear Sirs,

My mother has been diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma in the last week. She was told that without chemotherapy she might have 3 to 4 months. She will begin chemo within 2 weeks. Before this diagnosis she underwent surgery to remove the cancer from her omentum as it was not thought to be mesothelioma at that time. 90% has been removed. She has mentioned to her doctor about Dr Taub's work with intraperitoneal chemotherapy but was told that it is not carried out in New Zealand and there was no way they would start it for one patient. Would it be possible to contact Dr Taub or any other specialist and discuss the possibility of my mother joining clinical trials of any sort.

Yours,
